Today, the label boasts over a dozen singles and three LPs from the Agobun Riddim Section’s productions. Their music has earned widespread appreciation among reggae, dub, and sound system enthusiasts. Their tracks have been featured by top selectors such as Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, Mark Iration, Mikey Dread, and many more.
About the label
2018 marked the first release with singer Vivian Jones (Rock Dis Ya One, Wickedness), and the collaboration has continued since then (Fire Bun, Final War).
New connections were made in 2020 with singer Tenastelin (The Journey) and "dub master" Gussie Prento (Special Drop).
The label also released Kamel’s French-language Dub Poetry project (Trésor Révélé) and a digi-dub LP (In the Midst of Fire).
In 2021, the track Bound To Fall by Lille-based duo Wise Rockers made a significant impact within the sound system circuit, being played by sounds such as Jah Shaka, King Original, and OBF.
In 2022, the dubplate Play On, dubbed by Gussie P, recorded and produced at Agobun studio, was played at every session by Jah Shaka, who sadly passed away in April 2023, leaving the dub community orphaned. A new version of the track was released in October 2023 on the Chalice Music label, and it has been a huge success with roots and dub enthusiasts.

"Sound-system reggae roots basé à Lille, Agobun a été fondé en 2007 et s'inspire des figures incontournables de la scène locale, comme Chalice Sound et Coptic, ainsi que des légendes du dub britannique telles que Jah Shaka et Aba Shanti.
Au fil des années, Agobun a su se forger une solide réputation underground, d'abord comme résident dans des soirées locales dans la région (Bass Temple, Early Dub, Lille Dub AllStars, Warrior Charge...) avant de se produire sur les plus grands festivals de reggae et de sound systems à travers l'Europe, tels que le Dub Camp, ReggaeBus, International Dub Gathering et Zion Station.
Le crew s’est rapidement fait remarquer grâce à un son puissant et clair de haute qualité, allié à une sélection musicale originale et une vibe unique à chaque session. Leur réputation s'étend également au-delà des frontières, avec une présence régulière en Belgique et une reconnaissance dans le milieu reggae européen.
Depuis 2016, Agobun a également commencé à enregistrer, mixer et presser ses propres dubplates, s'inspirant du son roots des années 90. Ils ont lancé leur propre label, Agobun Riddim Section, et comptent aujourd'hui plus d'une dizaine de singles et trois LPs.
La musique d'Agobun a été largement appréciée par les passionnés de reggae, de dub et de sound systems, et leurs productions ont été jouées par des sélecteurs de haut vol tels que Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti, Mark Iration, Mikey Dread et bien d’autres."
